Chairman MA Jianzhong Delivered a Speech

In Ma Jianzhong and Liang Zhenying speech, it was pointed out that the World Congress of Chinese Medicine was held for 18 sessions, and it was held in Hong Kong for the first time this year to encourage and affirm the Chinese medicine industry in Hong Kong. Chinese medicine in Hong Kong has a deep foundation, and there is no lack of innovation while inheriting it. Hong Kong has a large number of firms engaged in ready-for-use traditional Chinese medicine manufacturing, Chinese herbal medicine processing, import and export trade, wholesale and retail, and has a long history of connecting with domestic and foreign countries. Hong Kong's strict supervision of medicinal materials and drugs and the good goodwill of Hong Kong drug dealers have made Hong Kong a reliable market for Chinese medicinal materials and ready-for-use traditional Chinese medicine, and a "super contact" for promoting Chinese medicine to go international. In the future, we should intensify our efforts to ensure that the development of Chinese medicine and the development of Chinese medicine industry receive sufficient support in Hong Kong.

Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor pointed out in his speech that Chinese medicine is the traditional advantage of Hong Kong. Chinese medicine practitioners in Hong Kong have been using traditional Chinese medicine theories and methods to prevent and treat diseases for the general public, which is well received and supported by the general public. After Hong Kong's return to the motherland, Chinese medicine has made great progress. In 1999, the SAR Government enacted the Chinese Medicine Ordinance, which established the statutory professional status of Chinese medicine and ensured the safety, quality and effectiveness of Chinese medicine. Under the impetus of the government, Chinese medicine clinics and teaching and research centers are now set up in 18 districts of Hong Kong to provide government-funded Chinese medicine outpatient services to the public, and provide internship and training opportunities for local universities, Chinese medicine undergraduates and graduates. On the other hand, the government provides cooperative treatment services between Chinese and Western medicine for patients with specific diseases in specific public hospitals, so as to promote mutual cooperation between Chinese medicine and Western medicine.

The most important power source for the development of Chinese medicine in Hong Kong is the support of the state. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Central Government for its strong support and National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine for its guidance over the years. I hope that the Chinese medicine industry in Hong Kong can seize the opportunity and make greater contributions to promoting the cause of Chinese medicine and promoting human health.

Yu Yanhong pointed out in his video speech that Chinese medicine is the treasure of ancient Chinese science and the key to open the treasure house of Chinese civilization. For thousands of years, it is Chinese medicine that can turn the Chinese nation from danger to safety again and again. At present, Chinese medicine has spread to 196 countries and regions, and the number of people who have received Chinese medicine treatment in the world has reached more than one third of the world population. As China's beautiful international business card and "health messenger", Chinese medicine has become an important part of building a "community of human destiny" and a "the belt and road initiative". Yu Yanhong pointed out that strengthening exchanges and cooperation in the field of Chinese medicine worldwide is of great significance for fighting novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic and safeguarding human health. Yu Yanhong put forward three initiatives: First, persist in inheriting and innovating and promote the academic development of Chinese medicine; Second, adhere to exchanges and cooperation to promote Chinese medicine to play its unique advantages and roles; Third, persist in unity and fight against the epidemic, and make contributions to building a community of human health and health. She hopes that the World Federation and its members will make joint efforts, actively mobilize resources from all parties, and form joint efforts with overseas Chinese medicine centers, so as to contribute to the early victory of epidemic prevention and control and the health and well-being of people all over the world and even all mankind.
