Website: http://www.icetcm.org Overview Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), a treasure to Chinese people and an important component of world medical science, has made an indelible contribution to human health and world civilization for thousands of years. Along with the change of modern medical model, expansion of disease spectra, and increasing demands for disease prevention and healthcare, there is widespread attention to and increasing demand for TCM in the international society. Therefore, it is more emergent and crucial than ever before to inherit, make innovation and further develop TCM.
The Chinese government has been working unremittingly to promote TCM inheritance and development. On the basis of the 1st and 2nd “International Conference on the Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine” successfully launched in 2002 and 2005 respectively, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Agriculture, the State Food and Drug Administration, the State Administration of TCM, Sichuan Provincial People’s Government and other 10 state authorities have decided to hold “The 3rd International Conference on the Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine” in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, November 25-26, 2010.
With the theme of “Traditional Chinese Medicine Innovation & Development”, the conference will attract well-known figures in TCM circle home and abroad to exchange TCM research achievements and promote the development of TCM industry that will further benefit human health. Parallel events, including “International Science and Technology Exposition for Traditional Chinese Medicine 2010” and “The 64th PHARMCHINA” are going to be held at the same time.
