【June 2026 Hangzhou, China】The 1st World Congress on Artificial Intelligence in TCM Notice of Conference (First Round)

To promote interdisciplinary integration, drive the intelligent upgrading of the entire TCM industry chain, and enhance the international discourse power of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the 1st World Congress on Artificial Intelligence in TCM, organized by the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS) and hosted by Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, will be held from June 26 to 28, 2026 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. Currently, the application of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in the field of TCM is in the stage of exploration and initial practice. Attempts have been made in areas such as assisted diagnosis and treatment, analysis of classical formulas, new drug development, and intelligent health preservation, showing certain development potential. This conference aims to establish an industry milestone, a global resource hub, and an industrial accelerator, building a “TCM + AI” ecosystem worth hundreds of billions. Experts, scholars, government officials, and corporate representatives from around the world will gather to share cutting-edge theories, technological achievements, implementation cases, and management policies on AI empowering TCM.

The World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS), founded on September 25, 2003, is an international academic organization approved by the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs, supervised by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and headquartered in Beijing, China. As of January 2026, it has 303 soceity members from 78 countries and regions, along with 186 branches. WFCMS is an NGO in official relations with the World Health Organization (WHO), a Category A liaison organization of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), a consulting body for UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage, and was granted Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council in 2021.

Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, originally established in 1953, was founded as Zhejiang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1959 and renamed Zhejiang Chinese Medical University in 2006. Upholding the motto “Seek the Origin at High Aspiration,” the university emphasizes education-oriented and academia-first principles. Over more than six decades, it has developed a unique institutional culture and spirit. The university currently has over 26,000 full-time students and more than 1,600 faculty and staff members. It has achieved remarkable accomplishments in TCM education, scientific research, and medical services. Actively promoting TCM culture internationally, it has established cooperative relationships with over 50 countries and regions, striving to become a first-class TCM university and contribute to global public health.

1.AI Breaking Bottlenecks in TCM Inheritance: Systematic mining and application of experiences from renowned TCM practitioners, ancient prescriptions, and intangible cultural heritage projects using AI.

2.AI Accelerating the Scientificization of TCM: Clinical big data analysis and validation of therapeutic mechanisms based on AI.

3.AI Empowering TCM Diagnosis and Drug Development: R&D and clinical evaluation of intelligent TCM syndrome differentiation and diagnostic systems; AI applications in new TCM drug discovery, efficacy/toxicity prediction, and quality control.

4.AI Empowering Intelligent Manufacturing: AI quality control technologies for smart pharmaceutical factories, herbal cultivation, and processing throughout the entire chain.

5.AI Empowering Personalized Health Management and Wellness Services: AI-based health guardians and wearable device applications tailored to individual constitutions.

6.Leading the Formulation of Global Standards for TCM AI: Research on TCM AI datasets, algorithm models, ethical guidelines, and international standards.

7.AI Empowering International Promotion and Cultural Dissemination of TCM: Implementation of TCM AI-assisted systems in Belt and Road countries; exploration of interdisciplinary talent training models combining “TCM + AI + Foreign Languages” ; application of new technologies such as AI virtual digital humans in TCM cultural communication.

8.Innovation in TCM Industrial Policies and Management Systems in the AI Era.

Government officials from relevant countries; experts, scholars, and corporate representatives globally engaged in TCM, artificial intelligence, internet health, big data, smart healthcare, and wellness industries; members and branch organizations of WFCMS.

VII. Conference Arrangements:

2.Working Meetings: The 5th Meeting of the Fifth Council Board and the Fifth Standing Council Board and The 5th Meeting of the Fifth Board of Supervisors, and renewal meetings of WFCMS branch organizations.

4.Continuing Education Credits: Attendees may apply for national-level continuing education credits (details in the second round notice).
