Notice: Sub-Forum of the Australian BUCMS Alumni Academic Symposium at the 22nd World Congress of Chinese Medicine

Organized by the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS), the World Congress of Chinese Medicine (WCCM) is the largest and most prestigious academic event in the global TCM community. To date, the Congress has been held 21 times in China, France, Canada, Singapore, Macau, Australia, the Netherlands, the UK, Malaysia, the USA, Russia, Spain, New Zealand, Thailand, Italy, Hungary, Hong Kong, Brazil, and more.

The 22nd WCCM will take place from 30th October 30 to 1stNovember, 2025, in Sydney, Australia. The event will feature a variety of academic exchanges, with TCM experts, government officials, and industry representatives sharing their research, clinical experiences, and innovations. A TCM Services Trade Exhibition will also be held.

To celebrate and promote traditional medicine and wellness culture and foster international collaboration, the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine Australian Alumni Association (BUCMAAA) and the World Traditional Medicine Culture and Health Society (WTMCHS) will co-host the “Forum on World Traditional Medicine and Wellness Culture & BUCMS Alumni Academic Symposium.” The details are as follows:

- Forum on Global Traditional Medicine and Wellness Culture: Exchange & Cooperation

      Promoting the essence of traditional medicine cultures worldwide and exploring diverse wellness principles for contemporary application.

- Academic Symposium of BUCMS Alumni in Australia and senior graduates from other TCM Universities: Insights and Innovations

      BUCM alumni and senior graduates from other TCM Universities, Programs, share frontline clinical experiences in TCM overseas, covering gynecology, oncology, dermatology, Paediatrics, acupuncture, tuina, and Taiji cultivation etc., as well as s well as share insights, experiences, and reflections on Chinese medicine education, research, and policy development.

- Inaugural Council Meeting of the World Association for Traditional Medicine and Wellness Culture

 

      First council meeting of experts and scholars to establish mechanisms for international cooperation and cross-cultural exchange.

 

4. Call for Papers

We welcome submissions on the inheritance, innovation, and clinical practice of traditional medicine and wellness culture. BUCM alumni and TCM professionals worldwide are especially encouraged to submit. Topics include but are not limited to:

- Research on traditional medicine systems in multicultural contexts
- Preservation and modernization models for TCM education, research, and policy
- Clinical case studies of complex diseases (gynecology, oncology, dermatology)
- Taiji and wellness culture promotion in Australia
- Ethnomedicine and wellness practices: qigong, meditation, dietary therapy
- Advances in acupuncture, tuina, and meridian theory, including overseas education and practice
- Intangible cultural heritage of herbal medicine: preservation and global transmission strategies

 

Please submit an abstract in both Chinese and English (no more than 300 words in Chinese), and the entire text (excluding references) is optional. Please use Song typeface for Chinese and Times New Roman for English. The Abstract Proceedings is compiled as the results of the conference and is not included in major index databases.

BUCM alumni, TCM graduates, clinical practitioners, members of the BUCMS Alumni Association in Australia, traditional medicine and wellness culture enthusiasts, BUCM leadership and international alumni representatives, clinicians from the Melbourne Chinese Medicine Alliance, representatives from Australia's health and wellness industries, ethnomedicine experts, research institutions, wellness organizations, elderly care and fitness practitioners.

7. Notes

Registration fee for early bird: AUD $ 1000 or USD $ 600, GST included. Limited to Oceania delegates attending this forum.

The registration fee includes conference materials, a welcome dinner on October 31st, and lunch for the conferences on October 31st and November 1st. Accommodation and round-trip transportation expenses need to be borne by oneself.

 

The early bird registration fee ends on August 31, 2025. After August 31st, registration fees will be charged according to the conference system prices.
