Dr. Reginaldo Filho, Dean of Faculdade EBRAMEC, Leads Delegation to Visit WFCMS

On September 3, 2026, Pan Ping, Deputy Secretary-General of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS), met with a delegation led by Dr. Reginaldo C. S. Filho, Executive Member of the WFCMS Council Board and Dean of the Brazilian College of Chinese Medicine (Faculdade EBRAMEC). Mrs. Fabiana Conte, Mr. Jorge Rebello and Mr. Marcos Ismail accompanied the visit.

Deputy Secretary-General Pan Ping extended a warm welcome to Dean Reginaldo and his delegation, and fully affirmed the positive achievements made by the Brazilian College of Chinese Medicine in advancing Chinese Medicine development and international communication in Brazil and Latin America over the years. He stated that as an important member of WFCMS, the Brazilian College of Chinese Medicine has always adhered to the inheritance and innovation of Chinese Medicine, actively aligned with the international Chinese Medicine standard system, and continuously carried out Chinese Medicine teaching, clinical promotion and academic exchanges, laying a solid foundation for the standardized and localized development of Chinese Medicine in Latin America. WFCMS attaches great importance to cooperation with the traditional medicine sector in Brazil. It is expected that both sides will further deepen practical cooperation in Chinese Medicine education and training, clinical technology promotion, academic research and other fields on the basis of existing cooperation, enabling Chinese Medicine to better serve the health of people in Brazil and Latin America.

Dean Reginaldo elaborated on the latest development of the Chinese Medicine industry in Brazil, the implementation progress of new acupuncture regulations, and the school-running achievements of the Brazilian College of Chinese Medicine. He introduced that the new national acupuncture law has been officially implemented in Brazil, stipulating that acupuncture practitioners must hold a Higher Education Degree in Acupuncture or a Higher Education Degree in health-related fields with a postgraduation in acupuncture, which has greatly improved the standardization and professionalism of the acupuncture industry in Brazil.

Currently, the Brazilian College of Chinese Medicine is the only institution in Brazil qualified to offer both Higher Education Degree in Acupuncture fully accredited by Brazilian Ministry Education and also postgraduation programs in acupuncture in compliance with the new regulations. A new professional program focusing on Chinese Medicine and External Therapies has been launched this year, further optimizing the Chinese Medicine talent training system.

Held on the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Brazilian College of Chinese Medicine and at a crucial stage of the implementation of Brazil’s new acupuncture legislation, this meeting is of great significance. In the future, the two sides will continuously expand cooperation fields and enrich cooperation contents, and jointly boost the innovative inheritance and high-quality international development of Chinese Medicine in Latin America.
