The 8th World Education Congress of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Second Circular)

To promote the global standardization of TCM education, deepen China-Arab traditional medicine exchange and cooperation, and build a bridge of dialogue between the Yellow River Civilization and the Nile River Civilization, the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS) and Egyptian Chinese University (ECU) will jointly host The 8th World Education Congress of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Cairo, Egypt, from November 13 to 15, 2026, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of China-Egypt diplomatic relations.

This Congress is the first authoritative international TCM education event to be held in the Arab region. It will feature diverse academic exchange formats, bringing together global TCM experts and scholars, government officials, academic representatives, and industry delegates to share experiences and discuss key issues in the internationalization of TCM education.

The relevant matters are hereby notified as follows:

IV. Congress Format and Topics
(A) Congress Format
1.Opening Ceremony — Gathering Chinese and Egyptian senior officials and guests from home and abroad, creating a cross-cultural, high-level international platform for TCM education exchange.
2.Keynote Addresses — Focusing on topics such as Globalizing TCM Education and building a human community with a shared health, this Congress will feature authoritative academic presentations.
3.Demonstration Workshops — Demonstrations of TCM education achievements, appropriate therapeutic technologies, and teaching auxiliary products.
4.Institutional Visits & Field Seminars — On-site exchange and discussion at local TCM institutions in Egypt.
(B) Parallel Sessions
1.Education Standards and Discipline Development — International education standards and curriculum system development.
2.Technology-Enhanced Education Innovation — Digital-era TCM education technology integration and teaching model innovation.
3.Clinical Practice and Talent Training — Global perspectives on TCM clinical competence development.
4.Policy Dialogue and Global Governance — International policy dialogue and governance pathways for TCM education.

V. Call for Papers
Papers are invited globally on research findings, practical experiences, and exemplary cases related to the parallel session topics, including TCM education standards, curriculum development, teaching innovation, clinical training, and policy governance.
(A) Submission Requirements
1.Submission deadline: August 31, 2026. Submissions must be made via the conference registration system under the “Paper Submission” section. Submissions through other channels will not be accepted.
2.All participants may submit. Each author may submit one paper only. Papers must have a clear theme and core viewpoints relevant to the Congress topics. Authors must submit both Chinese and English abstracts (Chinese abstract no more than 300 characters) and a full text (excluding references) of no more than 3,000 words. Chinese font: SimSun (宋体); English and numbers: Times New Roman.
3.Disclaimer: Papers must not contain classified information. Authors bear full responsibility for the content, authenticity, and intellectual property of their submissions.
(B) Acceptance Information
1.All manuscripts will be reviewed by experts of the Congress Academic Committee. Accepted abstracts will be compiled into the Conference Abstract Compendium (Digital Version).
2.Acceptance results will be displayed on the “Paper Submission” page of the conference registration system. The review period is 1–2 months. Acceptance notifications can be downloaded from the system.
3.Applicants for presentations must, upon receiving the acceptance notification, submit an application through the “Apply for Presentation” section of the registration system. The presentation content must be consistent with the submitted paper. Upon approval by the Academic Committee, the Organizing Committee will arrange the session and schedule.
4.Authors of accepted papers who cannot present in person may complete payment in the registration system and submit a virtual video presentation through the “Apply for Presentation” section. The video content must be consistent with the submitted paper. Upon approval by the Academic Committee, the video will be granted broadcasting rights on the “WFCMS Video Channel” and the “World Week of TCM Education” section of the member service platform.
5.Virtual video presentations and the Conference Abstract Compendium (Digital Version) are Congress deliverables and will not be indexed in domestic or international databases. Selected manuscripts will be recommended for publication in the *World Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine* or its overseas edition.

VIII. Registration Types and Fee Standards
(A) Registration Types
1.In-person Registration: Full attendance at all Congress activities, with payment of the registration fee.
2.Virtual/Remote Registration: Paper submission only, without attending the Congress in person. Payment according to this circular. Eligible for acceptance certificate, Conference Abstract Compendium (Digital Version), and virtual video presentation broadcasting rights.

1)Fee includes:
a)Conference materials (conference manual, name badge, participation certificate), Conference Abstract Compendium (Digital Version), coffee/tea breaks & refreshments, welcome dinner, and shuttle bus between designated hotels and the venue.
2)Fee excludes:
b)International travel, accommodation, visa, insurance, and all personal expenses.
3)Refund Policy:
c)All refund requests must be submitted via email to itd@vip.163.com. Verbal requests will not be accepted.
d)Once the registration fee has been applied to incurred costs such as conference materials, services, or invoicing, the corresponding portion is non-refundable.
e)Refund requests submitted within 30 days before the Congress or after the Congress will not be processed.
f)Any bank handling fees or exchange losses resulting from the refund shall be borne by the applicant.
g)In the event of postponement or cancellation due to force majeure or reasons attributable to the organizers, participants unable to attend may receive a full refund or have their registration transferred to the next Congress.
h)Upon approval by the Organizing Committee, refunds will be processed within 30 working days after the conclusion of the Congress.

1)Registration Fee includes:
a)Paper review, expert evaluation, Conference Abstract Compendium (Digital Version), and the acceptance certificate (downloadable from the registration system upon approval).
2)Video Service Fee includes:
b)Video review, revision, platform usage, etc. Approved virtual video presentations will be broadcast on the “World Week of TCM Education” section of the WFCMS member service platform for one month, openly shared with global members and the industry. Specific requirements regarding video duration, format, and recording background shall follow the guidelines of the registration system.
3)Refund Policy:
c)The registration fee is paid online through the conference registration system and is non-refundable after payment. The video service fee is non-refundable after the video has passed review.

2.Misuse of public funds for non-official travel or non-compliant participation in the Congress is strictly prohibited.
3.The organizers plan to organize post-Congress TCM exchange activities in Egypt, Tunisia, and Morocco (open exclusively to experts holding Chinese passports). These activities do not involve any tourism programs. Specific itineraries and registration methods will be detailed in a separate notice.
